Pike Acres Environmental
Responsible + Reliable Construction Stormwater Solutions
Construction or demolition projects in the State of Alabama that disturb more than 1 acre of soil are required to obtain coverage under the state’s Construction Stormwater General Permit. The Alabama Department of Environmental Management issues a General Permit for each project, and the contractor is required to maintain the erosion prevention and sediment controls that are specified on the erosion control plans and within the construction best management practices plans. The goal is to capture the soil that may be mobilized by rainwater and keep it from leaving site.
Providing regular inspections is a key component of maintaining compliance with the General Permit. The permit indicates that once monthly or after every 0.75"+ rainfall, inspections must be performed when soils are exposed or disturbed. Inspectors must have an active QCI certification or be an otherwise qualified professional. These inspections play a critical role in keeping sediment out of our waterways. All inspections done by Pike Acres Environmental are shared with the owner/contractor in an effort to stay within state compliance.
Pike Acres Environmental is local to the Montgomery, Alabama area but can provide permitting services state wide. We specialize in environmental permitting and compliance work for single family home construction, subdivisions, industrial facilities, and commercial developments.
